Clarification for calculating the capacity of fruit
and vegetable dryers:
Acording calculating the capacity of the dryer, we calculate that on 1cm3 of space
on the trays, a raw material weighing 0.7 grams / cm3 is placed. This specific
gravity of raw material (0.7g / cm3) is taken from Serbia. Blue plums are mostly
dried there. This means that the declared capacity of the dryer is if blue plums
are dried.
If apples (chips or slices of apples), apricots, mushrooms or tea are dried,
then it is normal to expect that the capacity is less than the declared one.
Example: if raw tea or lavender is dried, the capacity is not 100 kg. Raw tea
has a very low weight and a large size (cabbage).
Therefore, the capacity of the dryer is a relative term. It is recommended that
each user determine the drying capacity of their product, drying time and
temperature, according to their drying technology. We, as a company, produce
dryers, but the technology is the responsibility of the end buyer, in accordance
with the fruits that will dry and the demands of the market.
For comparison, a dryer with a capacity of 100 kg can hold a maximum of 45 kg.
apples in thin slices or 20 kg. raw apples (if apple chips are produced)
